END-TO-END

What is cold laser therapy?

Cold Laser Therapy, also known as Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or Photobiomodulation, is an innovative, non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate healing and reduce pain at the cellular level.

Unlike surgical lasers that cut through tissue using heat, cold lasers use low-intensity light that penetrates deep into tissues without causing damage or discomfort. This advanced therapy harnesses the power of light energy to trigger natural healing processes within your body’s cells.

Our clinic uses both Theralase technology, a Health Canada approved therapeutic laser system that has been clinically proven to reduce pain and inflammation while promoting tissue repair and regeneration.

Pain Relief

Significantly reduces acute and chronic pain by blocking pain signals and releasing endorphins, your body’s natural painkillers.

Reduces Inflammation

Decreases swelling and inflammation by improving vascular activity and reducing inflammatory markers in tissues.

Accelerates Healing

Speeds up tissue repair and regeneration by increasing cellular metabolism and ATP production at the cellular level.

Non-Invasive

Completely drug-free with no surgery, needles, or side effects. Safe for all ages and can be used alongside other treatments.

Treats Multiple Conditions

Effective for arthritis, sports injuries, back pain, tendonitis, wound healing, and many other musculoskeletal conditions.

Supports Natural Healing

Stimulates the body’s own repair mechanisms to restore balance, mobility, and function naturally.

the science behind it…

How does it really work?

Cold laser therapy works by delivering low-level light energy to targeted areas of the body, stimulating cellular activity and enhancing the body’s natural healing processes. Rather than masking symptoms, it supports repair at the cellular level, helping tissues heal faster and function more efficiently.

1-Light Penetration The therapeutic laser emits specific wavelengths of light (typically 660-905nm) that penetrate deep into your skin, reaching muscles, tendons, ligaments, and even bone tissue.

2-Cellular Absorption Light energy is absorbed by mitochondria, the powerhouses of your cells. This triggers a photochemical reaction that enhances cellular function and metabolism.

3- ATP Production The absorbed light stimulates the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which provides energy for cellular repair, regeneration, and normal function.

4- Healing Response Increased ATP leads to improved blood circulation, reduced inflammation, enhanced tissue repair, and accelerated healing. The body’s natural healing mechanisms are optimized.

Cellular Pathway Activation

all three known cellular pathways activated

1

Lipid Absorption Pathway

Laser therapy helps stop pain at its source by calming overactive nerves. Pain happens when nerves send rapid pain signals caused by an imbalance of sodium and potassium inside the nerve cell. The 905 nm laser light helps rebalance these minerals by restoring the nerve cell to its normal resting state. Once the nerve is balanced, pain signals slow down or stop, providing relief.

2

Nitric Oxide (“NO”) Pathway

Research shows that the Theralase® 905 nm laser significantly boosts nitric oxide levels in the body. Nitric oxide helps blood vessels relax and widen, allowing more blood, oxygen, and nutrients to reach injured areas. This improved circulation reduces inflammation, supports faster healing, and helps the body remove waste and toxins from the tissue.

3

Accelerates Healing

Theralase® laser therapy stimulates the mitochondria—the energy centers of the cell—to produce more ATP, the energy needed for healing and tissue repair. The laser light helps stressed cells function more efficiently by reducing oxidative stress and improving oxygen use. This increase in cellular energy lowers inflammation and allows damaged tissue to repair and heal faster.
